Budget has increased and special effects are excellent. Scenery is so perfect photographed that inspire fear and desires to be there all at the same time.
In general all technical and production aspects had improve substantially and not because the first part had any deficiency.
Acting is the only part that requires a little losing up for the main character. Marta Etura a solid actress over acts sometimes or feels too serious for a charismatic character. It is difficult to accept everybody follows and loves her.
There is a third part coming that I expect take care of the new characters. A group of great actors doing very little here. I did not read the books but assume their stories will gain weight on the conclusion.
In brief; a good thriller with many mysteries and some rather unexpected situations.

And so, being things as they are, we are presented with a so-called mystery feature film that not only doesn"t make all that sense but also doesn"t really come to an end, given the final cliffhanger that leaves us questioning (or maybe just wondering whether it"s worth to watch another 2-hour movie like this one that would probably not make any sense either. br> To sum it up, I would say that, just like in the previous movie:

• The main character, the detective, well. she doesn"t seem to do all that much: she just basically keeps on wandering without doing any real police work. Work that she lets her colleagues do while she keeps herself busy by making Skype calls with her "FBI friend" breast-feeding and listening to some "sensations" of hers.

 

• The "witch/black magic" plot it"s not only cliched but "ominously" ridiculous, and of course had to have something to do with the crazy mother of the detective (you"ll see that coming if you have seen the previous movie. li>

Furthermore, like in >The Invisible Guardian the esotheric is just basically thrown in as to try to make things more interesting and thrilling but just ends up dragging the all movie down minute after minute. It"s confusionary and very much left unexplained
(Why the scene at the beginning? Why little town of Betzan is supposed to be riddled with witches and dark cult followers? And, by the way, who the hell are this cult followers that some old friend of the detective"s mother suddenly bring to her attention and then disappear from the narrative (we should suppose because they want to make the next movie about them. br> We could go on with examples of unanswered questions for another hour.
This is a truncated movie with no real ending. It"s a frustrating feature because of its sometimes lackluster plot and frequent plot holes and unfinished narrative.
Also because of the bad acting and the almost total absence of suspense (the only exception to this being the last few minutes.
So, if you wanna see an unfinished and convoluted thriller that"ll leave you lingering "till the next movie comes out well, help yourself. You"ll be well served.
But, on the other hand, if you like well-rounded thrillers that pack real surprises and that are able to connect all the dots together nicely, that are able to wrap the all narrative up in a satisfying and logical way well, give this movie a pass.

The main problem is not that this is a very obvious wanna-be Wolf of Wall Street (without any of its cleverness) or that neither real estate nor banks nor any of this works as shown here. No, the problem is that the film constantly tells us how convincing and charming the main character is without ever proving it in a believable way. The story just goes along with it but none of it works because the main character does not. The fact that it"s supposedly based on a real story makes me think that the script took a lot of liberties with the actual story.

This is by far one of the worst movies I have watched lately. I expected something like "Bad Banks" since the topic of fraudulent real estate transactions can be interesting and thrilling. But the director and the script didn"t manage to live up to the expectations. The script is super bad and shallow, the actors are mediocre and the way the topic was approached is so full of nonsense that I was barely able to watch till the end. From time to time there was even a feeling of embarrasement creeping in. As another review already stated, none of this would have ever worked out the way it was protrayed. I do not believe this is based on a true story, it"s too easy, too dumb. Corrupt court employees, corrupt bankers? Bribery? In germany? Seriously, I still feel embarrased by the thought of this infantile plot. The "story" is just a combination of weird events (e.g. the lovely main chracters decide on a company take-over in next to no time in a brief meeting and force the attendants - employees of the just "acquired" company - to sing "Oh du Fröhliche" just seconds later or else they"d get fired - yeah it"s that bad. and can"t believe I watched it till the end.
I"ll give this 2 stars as the main character was pretty cute and his suits were easy on the eyes.

Jumanji: The Next Level is another fun exciting adventure film that brings back the same cast from the second installment. The plot follows Spencer (Alex Wolff) who is feeling distant with his friends Fridge (Ser Darius Blain) Martha (Morgan Turner) and Bethany (Madison Iseman. Spencer now has his grandfather Eddie (Danny DeVito) living with them. Which Eddie friend Milo (Danny Glover) comes to visit. When Spencer brings back the game Jumanji ands pulled in. His friends try to search for him and gets back into the game. The twist is Eddie and Milo are also pulled in and are disguised as Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) and Mouse (Kevin Hart. While Fridge is now Shelly (Jack Black) and Martha is still Ruby (Karen Gillan. The new adventure of Jumanji is to search for the stolen gem that is captured by a group of bad guys.
The plot is similar to the first movie with new twist. Which the twists makes it a lot of fun. Seeing Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart"s interpretation as Danny Glover and Danny DeVito. Fresh faces, fresh humor, and a lot of action sequences. From some crazy dune chase sequence with the characters being chased by a herd of ostriches. To a swinging walkaway bridges with characters being chased by monkeys. And a showdown fight scene with Karen Gillan and Dwayne Johnson fighting through an army of guys. It is not short on the action.
I love the cast ensemble. Dwayne, Karen, Jack, and Kevin are all fun and great. I would love to see another adventure with them. Nick Jonas makes an appearance which is fun. New additions like Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, and Danny Glover brings some fun fresh energy into the movie as well.
The plot may be nothing new to the series. Which is similar to the second movie. But it sure as well is a lot of fun with the cast, humor, and action.

I first watched the Jumaji reboot around a year after it was in theaters. I did not expect much from it to be honest, but I ended up loving it. I was excited to hear that they had announced the sequel, but I did not expect much from it. I guess this is twice that I was wrong about this franchise.
Feeling disenchanted while in New York for college, Spencer fixed the smashed game console and goes back to revisit Jumanji. He does not tell his three friends because there is a rift that had formed, mostly stemming from Spencer.
When Fridge, Bethany and Martha go looking for him, they discover where he went. They all resolve to go rescue him, but there is a hitch. The console is malfunctioning and Spencer"s grandfather and his friend are pulled into the game.
This movie made me laugh, hard, and a lot. It is well crafted, but does rely a bit much on the same elements that made the first such a success. I dare say though that this is a slightly better movie that Welcome to the Jungle. The ending was left to imply that there will be a third.
